Creating a Content Plan for Your First Six Weeks

The first 6 weeks of your community is a crucial period  for you to entice early adopters with high quality content. Planning out your first 6 weeks of content will make it a lot easier for you.

Image 1-2

Many hosts have a set pattern or structure to their app content, which means putting different types of content on different days of the week. This repetition not only makes it easier to create content but creates a feeling of ritual that improves the sense of belonging. The amount and length of the content depends on the purpose of your Community.

You may, as in our yoga example below, have frequent, but short pieces of content. Alternatively, you may have longer content or a more defined approach if offering training or courses.

For example, why not encourage member contributions for:

  • Their favourite place to meditate
  • Their best nature photograph
  • Their favourite, out of the way places to eat

With that in mind, we have an example structure plan that you can copy into your favourite word processor or note-book, so that you can start planning out your Communities content. We've used an example for a Yoga community here, but you can change this to suit your needs!

We also have this page to help you find inspiration and ideas for content.
