How do Roles Work in the Console?

In the console you have the option to choose between 5 roles. All with different levels of access and functionality to the backend of your Community. Read on to learn how roles works and how to use them ⬇️.

These different roles have been broken down into Manager, Community Host, Moderator, Publisher and Statistics. Each role has been designed to give the Console user certain access to the console and limits the functionality they will receive.

Manager

The highest level role in the console with the ability to manage the community and the community configuration (Branding, Navigation, Legal Documentation). Should only be assigned to trusted people who need to make major changes to the community Configuration.

Community Host

The second highest role in the console and the most flexible. A Community Host has the same community management permissions as a Manager without the ability to make any Configuration changes. A community Host allows a Community Manager to bring someone on board who can do the day to day backend community management. For example, Creating/editing folder contents, creating and scheduling posts and Managing community members.

Publisher

The publisher role has a more limited access to the console and allows them to access Groups, Posting and Folders. This allows them to create content for the Community as an admin but does not give them direct access to the Community. This can be useful if you need to give a third party access to your community such as a partner or sponsor.

Moderator

The moderator role gives a user the ability to access and manage your groups on a basic level. They can not however post into the community and create any content for the community. They have very basic permissions that allow them to carry out simple tasks.

Statistics

Statistics has the most basic access to the console where they simply gain access to the analytics page. They can not gain access to anything else on the console. This may be limited from a permissions standpoint but can be useful if you need to give investors or sponsors access to the Community Statistics to view the Communities Performance.
